Mahajan remains critical on day 11
Mumbai, May 2 (UNI) The condition of grievously wounded senior BJP leader Pramod Mahajan remained critical for the 11th day in Hinduja Hospital here tonight as doctors reported no improvement in his respiratory problem.
The 56-year-old leader continued to be on ventilation, dialysis and medication to support his blood pressure, the Hospital said in the second medical bulletin issued tonight.
''Medical condition of Pramod Mahajan continues to remain almost the same as ( reported ) in the afternoon...he is on ventilator, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and on isotoropic drugs ( to support his blood pressure). He is critical... his ARDS(acute respiratory distress syndrome) remains the same,'' Hospital director (administration) Anupam Verma said.
He, however, said tests and investigation are being carried out but details cannot be given.
The afternoon bulletin had said, '' ARDS has further worsened and all support systems on Mr Mahajan have gone up.'' On his vital parameters like ventilation, blood pressure and kidney functions, Mr Verma only said, ''the condition in totality is critical.'' Mr Mahajan, who was shot and critically injured allegedly by his younger brother Praveen on April 22, has undergone three surgeries in the last 11 days.
