Leopard found missing from zoo; villagers alerted
Hubli, May 2 (UNI) Villagers living around the Binkadakatte zoo in Gadag district of Karnataka have been put on alert after a leopard was found missing from the zoo.
Gadag District Superintendent of Police Manish told UNI over phone that the leopard was found missing when the zoo-keeper went to the cage to place food for it. He later alerted the officials concerned following which tourists visiting the zoo were asked to leave the place immediately.
The police and the forest officials were unable to trace the feline.
Mr Manish said search for the leopard was still on and the villagers had been kept on alert.
The feline was recently captured from the premises of a school in Hubli city on April one last.
