Lashkar denies hand in Doda, Udhampur massacre
Srinagar, May 2: The Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) today denied involvement in the massacre of at least 35 Hindus in Doda and Udhampur districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
LeT spokesman Abu Huzaifa in a telephonic statement to the Kashmir News Service (KNS), a local news agency, said the outfit was not involved in the killing of innocent civilians in Doda and Udhampur districts.
''The massacre is an attempt to malign the militants and the ongoing freedom movement besides aimed at fomenting communal violence in the state,'' he said.
The Lashkar spokesman alleged that the Indian security forces and the intelligence agencies were behind such acts.
''No militant outfit will commit such heinous acts,'' he added.
