Kathmandu, May 2 (UNI) Nepal Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala today named a seven-member Cabinet.

He appointed CPN UML's Khagda Prasad Oli as his Deputy with addtional charge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

There are three members from the Nepali Congress and one each from CPN - UML, Nepali Congress Democratic and the United Left Front.

Mr Ram Sharan Mahat of Nepali Congress (NC) has been made the Finance Minister while NC's spokesperson Mr Krishna Sitaula will look after the Home Ministry. Mr Mahanth Thakur of the same party will look after the Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry.

Mr Gopal Man Shrestha of Nepali Congress (D) will be Minister of Physical Planning and Mr Prabhu Narayan Chaudary of the United Left Front has been given charge of the Minstry of Land Reform.

Two small Communist parties -- Nepal Majdoor and Kisan Party and Peoples' Front -- have no representation in the new cabinet.

A meeting of the leaders of the Seven Party alliance, held here yesterday, agreed in principle to limit the strength of the Cabinet to 21.

It was reported that the delay in the announcement of the Cabinet was due to the differences in the allocation of portfolio of key ministries.

The parliament has unanimously passed a resolution for election of the constituent assembly, one of the main demands of the Maoists and the alliance.
