LONDON, May 2 (Reuters) Tottenham Hotspur central defender Ledley King has signed a new improved four-year contract, the Premier League club confirmed today.
The 25-year-old England international, the longest-serving member of the current Spurs squad and also the club captain, has madse more than 200 appearances since his debut in 1999.
''We know that so many other clubs would love to lure him from us so we are really pleased he has agreed a new deal,'' coach Martin Jol said on the club's website.
King is recovering from a broken metatarsal in his left foot, ruling him out of his club's push for a top-four finish and making him a doubt for the World Cup finals.
