Inbathamizhan dropped from Cabinet

Chennai, May 02 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Inbathamizhan was today dropped from the Council of Ministers on the advice of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, a Raj Bhavan release said here.

The subjects held by Mr Inbathamizhan were allocated to C Ve Shanmugam, Minister for Education and Commercial Taxes, in addition to the subjects held by him, Ms C K Gariyali, Secretary to the Governor, said in the release.

Mr Shanmugam has been designated Minister for Education, Commercial Taxes, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister, she said.

The move comes hours after he quit the ruling AIADMK and joined the opposition Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).
