HM militant among 2 killed, RDX recovered in JK

Srinagar, May 2: A Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant and a counter insurgent were killed while security forces arrested two ultras and recovered deadly RDX and other arms and ammunition in the Jammu and Kashmir overnight, on official spokesman said today.

HM militant Khursheed Ahmad alias Muneeb was killed in an encounter at Thahtri last night. The encounter ensued after a search party was attacked by the militants. An ak rifle and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militant.

The spokesman said a counter insurgent Altaf Ahmad Lone was killed and another injured in a firing incident at Khurhama in the frontier distict of Kupwara last night.

Militants shot at and wounded one Mohammad Assadullah, a retired forest official, at Sheikhpora in Baramulla district last night. He was hospitalised.

Security forces arrested two militants and recovered 36 kg of RDX, one hand grenade and 36 rounds of ammunition at Baderkote, Qazigund and Mathom Dharam Kote last night.
