Goa will be tough against CRZ violaters: CS
Panaji, May 2 (UNI) Mr J P Singh, Chairman of the Goa State Coastal Zone Management Authority, today said it will demolish structures which violate the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) as stipulated by the Centre.
Interacting with mediapersons here, Mr Singh said the recently constituted 11-member Authority would enforce the regulations in letter and spirit, in consultation with the Centre.
More than 300 instances of such violations have come to the notice of the government in the tourist state and a final decision on the same would be taken after reviewing them, case by case shortly, he said.
The Authority would also examine proposals for changes or modifications in classification of the Coastal Regulation Zone areas and the recommendations would be sent for approval of the National Coastal Zone Management Authority, he added.
