Gloster examines Sachin, to start batting drill this week
New Delhi, May 2 (UNI) With the rehabilitation process going according to plans, Sachin Tendulkar will commence light batting drills this week after Team India physio John Gloster examined the Little Champion today.
BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah said in a statement that Tendulkar today underwent an examination and reassessment of his condition five weeks after the shoulder surgery and would commence light batting drills within the week.
''All aspects of the recovery have to this point gone as planned and he has adapted well to the implementation of the strength components of his programme,'' the statement said.
''Sachin has been advised further strengthening exercises as well as implement more functional shoulder activities.'' ''The original time frames discussed by the surgeon at the time of the operation appear to be still relevant,'' it added.
