Fire breaks out in engine of goods train

Gwalior, MP, May 2 (UNI) A fire broke out in the engine of a goods train today near Sandalpur station in Jhansi rail division, official sources said.

The goods train was heading to Jalgaon when its engine caught fire at 1100 hrs due to a technical snag. But the driver acting promptly, halted the train near Sandalpur station and informed the Gwalior railways.

Two fire tenders were pressed into service. Rail movement along the uptrack was affected for some time.

No loss of life or property was reported.
