Extremists blow up panchayat bhavan

Giridih, May 2 (UNI) Proscribed CPI(Moist) extremsits blew up the panchayat bhavan at Kukra village under Pirthand police station of the district last night, according to Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Singh.

The extremists, however, did not harm any villager, he said.

In the same village two days ago, the extremists blew up a police picket.

Mr Singh said a search operation was launched in the area to nab the extremists.

Two companies of para-military force and a police team were conducting the operation, he added.
