Efforts on to recover 170 acres of occupied land: Spokesman

Machilipatnam, May 2 (UNI) The Krishna District Revenue authorities, in a recent survey found that about 170 acres of fish tanks, has been under the occupation of a ruling party leader at Kanuru coastal village in Bandar mandal of this district, according to an official spokesman here.

He said these lands were distributed to landless fishermen earlier for fish culture. Later, the politician took away these lands from them. All these lands would be recovered under the Revenue Act 9 of 77 and re-distributed to eligible fishermen again, he added.

The spokesman said the third and final phase of Kolleru lake enroached fish ponds demolition programme was going on in Krishna district area.
