EB, Bagan look to shop professionals
Kolkata, May 2 (UNI) Keeping in tune with the Vision India Strategic Development Plan, East Bengal and Mohun Bagan are getting ready to shop mostly professional players for the coming season.
East Bengal have already written to AIFF seeking financial assistance in this regard.
Mohun Bagan are also approaching professional players. ''Its a much thought out plan from our end that our recruiting policy will focus on professionals,'' a Bagan official said today.
While East Bengal have 17 players on a two year contract, they will be eyeing two side-backs, a central defender and a striker, Mohun Bagan on the other hand are shopping all out top deliver their promised 'dream team'.
With the hopes of winning the National Football League almost drying out for the two teams from the maidan. They are now focussing for rebuilding their sides.
East Bengal have 28 points from 15 games and Mohun Bagan 21 from 14 matches. Mahindra United lead the table with 29 points from 13 matches.
