Damage suit filed by IPS officer

Patna, May 2 (UNI) An IPS officer of Bihar Amitabh Kumar Das today filed a defamation damage suit of Rs 5 crore against the daughter of a former colleague and some scribes of a Hindi daily.

Mr Das' Counsel Ibrahim Kabir said the suit was filed in the court of the first subordinate judge of Patna civil court.

Mr Kabir said his client's reputation and prestige suffered serious damage following the allegation of sexual exploitation perpetrated by the IPS officer on Shabnam Sinha, the daughter of late IPS officer P K Sinha.

The charges against Mr Das was widely carried by local dailies quoting Ms Shabnam.
