Case against Medha for late night meeting
Badwani, MP, May 2 (UNI) A case has been filed against Narmada Bachao Andolan leader Medha Patkar and other activists for violating a Supreme Court ruling by organising a late night public meeting here without even seeking the administration's permission.
Social activist Swami Agnivesh, Magsaysay awardee Sandeep Pandey and Multai MLA Sunilam were among several dignitaries present.
''The meeting, which went on till 0200 hrs, took place at Jhanda Chowk on the intervening night of April 26-27 as part of a 'Pol Khol Yatra','' said Superintendent of Police Dinesh Chandra Sharma.
The case was filed yesterday, under section 188 of the IPC, against Patkar, activist Ashish Mandloi and others.
