Two Indians in Time's most influential list
Washington, May 1: Two Indians, Nandan Nilekani, President of software giant Infosys and Vikram Akula, Founder of SKS Microfinance, figure in the Time magazine's list for 2006.
Time describes Nilekani like this, "Seattle has Bill. Bangalore has Nandan, ", "One of the Indian engineer-entrepreneurs most responsible for creating the new reality that has produced this new Indian image is Nandan Nilekani,"
SKS Microfinance provides venture capital to the poor. Akula has made SKS one of the fastest-growing microlenders, says the Magazine.
