Train services affected after derailment of 22 wagons

Bangalore, May 1 (UNI) All major trains between Bangalore and Chennai were cancelled today following derailment of 22 wagons of a goods train at Chitheri on the Chennai-Arakonam section of the Southern Railway, according to South-Eastern Railway sources.

The derailment occured around 2030 hrs yesterday.

The trains that would not run include the Vrindaban Express from both sides, Shatabdi Express from Bangalore and Mysore, Lal Bagh Express from Bangalore and the Chennai and Bangalore Express trains.

The sources said the track was likely to be restored by 1800 hrs today.
