Suryanarayan's body arrives; flown to Hyderabad

New Delhi, May 1: The body of K Suryanarayan, killed by the Taliban in Afghanistan, was brought here this afternoon on an Indian Airlines flight accompanied by a senior manager of the 'Almoayed Group', the parent company for which the Indian telecom engineer worked.

At the airport, wreaths on the coffin were placed on behalf of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy by Joint Commissioner K Chiranjeevi and Resident Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh R P Agrawal.

Indian Airlines Regional Director Manjira Khurana was present during the wreath-laying ceremony.

All India Anti-Terrorist Front president Maninder Singh Bitta also placed a wreath, along with the national flag, on the coffin.

Flowers were also put on the coffin by Senior Commandant of the CISF, manning airport security here, J B Kaushik.

The IA flight IC 844, carrying the body, landed here at 1505 hrs.

While Manish Aggrawal, general manager 'Almoayed Group' (Manama (Bahrain) based company), along with another company official J Sreeniwas, accompanied the body from Kabul to New Delhi, both along with company Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pankaj Sehgal, and President V P Ajan accompanied it to Hyderabad.

The body, wrapped in the tricolour, was flown to Hyderabad in an Indian Airlines flight IC 839.

K Suryanarayan, an employee of 'Almoayed Group' had been with the company for the last two years and had gone to Kabul in January this year.
