Over 20 killed in militant attack in Doda

Doda May 1 (UNI) At least 20 people were killed and eight others injured in two separate militant attacks in Kulhand area in Doda town late last night, a defence spokesman said today.

Militant first attacked Dawa village and killed 11 people and then struck the adjacent Pauchra village and massacred nine of the villagers, Public Relations Officer of 16 Corp, Col. D K Badola told UNI.

All the injured were admitted to a district hospital here, he added.

Teams of Rashtriya Rifles and police have rushed to the spot, he said.

This massacre has come close on the heels of the killings of four shepherds in Lallalan Galla, a mountainous pass in Udhampur district yesterday.
