Militants kill twenty-two villagers in Jammu
Srinagar. May 1: Suspected militants today killed at least 22 villagers and seriously injured five others in remote villages of Panjdobi and Thava in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Armed Lashkar-e-Toiba militants gathered the villagers outside the houses of the heads of Panjdobi and Thava hamlets in Udhayanpur belt of the district around 2 a.m and opened fire, killing 22 Hindus.
An ex-serviceman, who escaped from the spot, later informed the police about the killings, said Inspector General of Police, Jammu, S P Vaid.This is the second instance of terror striking Jammu within 24 hours. Jammu police found the bodies of four cattle grazers who were among nine people abducted by suspected militants, on Sunday.
Army has rushed to the area to take care of the situation
