Karnataka to set up Cultural Authority
Mysore, May 1 (UNI) The Karnataka Government will set up Cultural Authority for overall development of the State's culture, Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said today.
Speaking after inaugurating Basavajayanthi here, he said that the Authority will look after Temples, heritage structures and maintain monuments in the State.
He said that the government has already Rs 20 Crore has been allocated for the development of Basavakalyana.
Mr Yediyurappa said that State's first Women University in Bijapur would be christened as 'Akamahadevi University' and Gulbarga University would be named as 'Basaveshwara University'' after Cabinet approval.
