Gujarat DGP Pandey's appointment challenged

New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) 'Citizens for Justice and Peace', an Ahmedabad based NGO, has challenged the appointment of controversial police officer P C Pandey as Gujarat Director General of Police.

In a PIL filed before the Supreme Court, the NGO challenged Mr Pandey's appointment, referring to his ''dubious role'' during the post Godhra riots in Ahmedabad, when he was city police commissioner.
