Governor and CM condemn killings in Doda and Udhampur
Jammu, May 1 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor S K Sinha and Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad have condemned the killing of 22 Hindus by the militants in the Kulhand village of Doda district and Basant Garh of Udhampur district.
Terming the incident barbaric, General Sinha expressed grief over the killings and said such an act should open the eyes of those who have been "trumpeting on human rights" but have maintained silence over such killings.
Mr Azad said bloodshed or violence have no place in civilised society and no objectives or mission can be achieved through such acts. He, at the same time, directed the security forces including police and BSF to take hard steps against "violence mongers".
They also expressed their sympathies to the families of the deceased.
