Former health director denied bail

Patna, May 1 (UNI) Special Vigilance Judge of Patna Ramniwas Prasad today rejected the anticipatory bail petitions of four people, including a former health director, in a multi-crore flood relief scam in the state.

After hearing both sides, the designated judge turned down the anticipatory bail plea of former Health Director Durga Prasad Mandal and three businessmen -- Ritesh Agarwal, Amit Jalan and Ajay Rastogi.

The case, related to misappropriation of Rs 13 crore, which was allocated for relief of flood-affected people of North Bihar in 2004.
