Delhi boys and Punjab girls emerge winners

Vijayawada, May 1 (UNI) In a nail-bitting finish, Delhi boys registered a hard-earned victory against host Andhra Pradesh in the final of the 51 National School games Basketball tournament at Guntur.

Though Andhra Pradesh gave a tough fight, it lost the game by 68-66 to Delhi, last evening.

In the girl's final, Punjab trounced Maharashtra 85-49 to win the title.

Punjab drubbed Rajasthan 85-49 to finish third in boy's section, while Delhi girls lost to Karnataka 54-34 for the third place.

Results: (final) Boys: Delhi bt Andhra Pradesh, 68-66 Girls: Punjab bt Maharashtra 85-49.

Third place Boys: Punjab defeated Rajasthan 85-49 Girls: Karnataka bt Delhi 54-34.
