bridge the gap between Science and spirituality: Mani Bhaumik

Kolkata, May 1 (UNI) An inward search in quest of common grounds between religious beliefs of the East and Science of the West to bridge the gap between Science and spirituality is what US-based Indian scientist Dr Mani Bhaumik's latest Los Angeles best seller, 'Code Name God' talks about.

Speaking about his book here Dr Bhaumik said how spirituality and science are essential for human beings and how balance can be struck between the two.

Dr Bhaumik has narrated his rags to riches story, from his childhood in Tamlook in West Bengal, hardships during famine in 1943 to his life in Bel Air home in US.

The book chronicles an amazing journey of a man who has his roots in the East but also belongs to the West.

Dr Bhaumik discovers that 'hapiness is an inside job' and invites readers to join him on a cosmic 'dance' across that vast expanse where God and the Scientists, religion and faith, science and mysticism meet.

Dr Bhaumik's rise from abject poverty to height of luxury--the journey is reflected in this book. Dr Bhaumik completed his Ph.D in Physics from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and a Sloane Foundation fellowship for postdoctoral work at UCLA.

He got international recognition and accolades as a co-inventor of the Laser Technology that made corrective eye surgery LASIK possible.

Dr Bhaumik had also started Mani Bhaumik Educational Foundation to provide scholarships for the study of science, medicine and engineering to eighty-one underprivileged young women and men.
