BJP condemns Doda massacre
New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) The BJP today condemned the killing of 22 Hindus in Doda, alleging the incident was the result of soft policies of the UPA government and urged the Centre to pressurise Pakistan to stop cross border terrorism.
Talking to newspersons, BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said,'' The killings were a result of the soft attitude of the government towards terrorism and its perpetrators. The massacre was aimed at ethnic cleansing of the Hindus from the border villages to facilitate infiltration''.
The government instead of merely condemning the brutal killings should talk to Pakistan to stop aiding and abetting cross border terrorism and training camps.
He said that it was a matter of concern that Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad had spoken of demilitarisation of the state while PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti was talking of turning the clock back to the pre-1948 situation.
Meanwhile, the party has called for ''Doda Bandh today'' and Jammu will be observing a bandh tomorrow, Mr Javadekar said.
Senior party leader Sahib Singh Verma has been asked to lead the Jammu bandh, he added.
