US embassy condoles Galbraith death
New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) The US Embassy in New Delhi today expressed profound sadness upon the death of former US Ambassador to India John Kenneth Galbraith.
"He made important and long-standing contributions to the US-India bilateral relations and left many friends in India," it said in a statement here.
Galbraith was appointed as an Ambassador to India in 1961 by US President John F Kennedy and served here till 1963.
"Mr Galbraith had a long distinguished career as a scholar and diplomat. He was considered one of America's most influential economists in the 20th century," the US embassy said.
