Patil assures to pursue Kolhapur HC bench demand

Kolhapur, Apr 29 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today assured that he will personally pursue the long-pending demand to establish a bench of the High Court in Kolhapur.

Mr Patil, who holds the Home portfolio, was speaking at a function organised by the Kolhapur Bar Association here.

The Deputy Chief Minister said he will place the demand before the State Cabinet and urge the Chief Minister to purse the matter with the Chief Justice.

He admitted that a large number of cases were pending before the court and in order to ensure justice for the people from Kolhapur region, the demand for establishing a High Court bench here was justified.
