Seoul, Apr 30 (UNI) Amandeep Johl saved his best for the last and carded a sizzling six-under 66 for a tied third finish at the 600,000 dollar GS Caltex Maekyung Open here today.

The Indian, who was tied eighth after yesterday's round of 70, came up with his best show of the week and rocketed up the leaderboard with a four-day total of 14-under 274.

However, the other Indians in the fray -- Gaurav Ghei and Rahil Gangjee -- disappointed as both of them slipped down.

While, Ghei (274), who was tied 19th yesterday, went down to tied 25th after carding a level-par round, Gangjee's form went from bad to worse as he had a second successive over-par round to slip to tied 69th.

In contrast, Johl was at his best as he improved upon his yesterday's show and finished ahead of Korean Charlie Wi (277), who ended at tied ninth.

Meanwhile, the final showdown went to the wires with Korea's Suk Jong-ryul (271) firing a finel-hole birdie to lift the title. The maiden Asian Tour winner had a blemish-free final round and edged past American Bryan Saltus (272), who also closed with a 67, by one stroke at Lakeside Country Club.

Overnight leader Lee Sung of Korea faded on the back nine for a closing 72 to share third place with Johl and local amateur Noh Seung-yul, who carded matching 66s.
