Iran ready for agreement gas line

Dubai, Apr 30 (UNI) Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad has said Tehran is ready to reach a ''fair agreement'' with New Delhi on the proposed gas pipeline project.

He made the remarks in a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh while reffering to his recent phone talks with Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf.

Referring to the deep-rooted, friendly ties and cultural bonds between the two countries, the Indian Prime Minister vowed to expand and consolidate ties with Iran, Tehran Times reported today.

India believes one or few specific stances on certain issues can have no impact on mutual relations with respect to the two countries' great potentials for bolstering ties, Singh told Ahmadinejad.

Mr Singh and Mr Ahmadinejad stressed the importance ofsetting a schedule to sign a deal on the gas transfer project.

If Iran, India and Pakistan fail to reach an agreement within the newt few months, they plan to hold a session in Tehran to discuss the case, Iranian President said.
