Heat wave conditions in parts of AP

Hyderabad, Apr 30 (UNI) The people of Andhra Pradesh reeled under oppressive heat for yet another day as the mercury soared above the 40 Deg C mark in several cities today.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in south coastal Andhra Pradesh, while day temperatures were appreciably above normal in Rayalaseema and Telangana, the Weather Office said here tonight.

The temple town of Tirupati was very hot at 43.9 deg C, followed by Nellore 43.4 Deg C, Nizamabad 43.3 Deg C, Nalgonda 42.4 Deg C, Kurnool 42.6 Deg C, Ongole 41.6 Deg C, Ramagundam and Vijayawada 40.6 Deg C each and Hyderabad 40.7 Deg C.

However rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in coastal Andhra Pradesh. Mainly dry weather would prevail over Telangana and Rayalaseema in the next 48 hours, it said.
