Govt will not oppose dissent on ADB meet : FM

Hyderabad, Apr 30: Union Minister for Finance P Chidambaram today said the dissent from the NGOs and other groups who were opposing the 39th Asian Development Bank (ADB) Annual General meeting to be held here from May 3 to 6 was welcome.

Talking to newsperson here, Mr Chidambaram said 'the NGOs and other groups who were against the ADB meet had the right to oppose the meeting. ''They have every right to express their views on the ADB meet'', he added.

Stating that he would redress pressure group problems if they come for a discussion with him, he said there was confusion and apprehension among some sections of the people on the ensuing meet.
