Govt announces Rs five lakh ex-gratia to the bereaved family

Hyderabad, Apr 30 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government today announced Rs five lakh ex-gratia and Government employment to the wife of K Suryanarayana, who was abducted and killed by the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Talking to newspersons here, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, who visited the house of late Suryanarayana and consoled his family members, said the Government would take all possible steps to provide assistance to the bereaved family.

He said Rs five lakh would be deposited in the name of Mr Suryanarayana's three children.

Condemning the killing of Mr Suryanarayana by the Taliban militants, Dr Reddy said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who called him over phone this morning had assured that the Centre, would announce a special economic package to the family at the earliest. UNI AP KVV RR KP1559
