Flooggates of Pandoh dam to be opended today

Mandi, Apr 30 (UNI) Due to the increase in the flow of water in Beas the floodgates of Pandoh Dam will be opened any time today leading the river to be in spate.

In a press note faxed to UNI today Pandoh Dam Division BBMB Executive Engineer D P Goel, has cautioned the people against carrying on any activity in and around the Beas which will be flooded due to the release of water from Pandoh Dam. It is reported that this year there has been unusual melting of glaciers in the catchment areas of Beas probably due to global warming.
