Fire in Taj Hotel and slums near G B Pant Hospital
New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) In two separate incidents, some rooms of five-star hotel Taj Palace and about 150 slums near the G B Pant Hospital in Central Delhi were gutted in a fire today keeping the firemen busy.
The minor fire in a floor near the kitchen of the hotel in South-West Delhi was detected at 1230 hrs and was brought under control within half-an-hour, the Fire Service sources said.
Five fire tenders had been pressed into service to douse the fire at the hotel.
The major fire in the slums near the Delhi Government Hospital razed about 150 slums at 1430 hrs. About 25 fire tenders were pressed into service to bring the fire under control.
Nobody was injured in both the incidents.
