CPI(ML) demands Nitish Kumar's public apology
Patna, Apr 30 (UNI) The CPI (ML) today demanded that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should apologise in public for misleading the people of Bihar on dissolution of the Amir Das Commission, constituted to probe the political links of the Ranvir Sena.
The party has also asked the Chief Minister to drop Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi from the state cabinet.
State CPI (ML) Secretary Ramjatan Sharma told newspersons here that the Amir Das commission should be 'revived' immediately as it exposed the politicians who patronised the Ranvir Sena.
He said Mr Modi was one such politician and should be immediately dropped from the cabinet.
''The Chief Minister's claim that former Governor Dr Buta Singh had recommended dissolution of the Commission and implemented it,'' Mr Sharma quoted Justice Das, who in an interview with a local English daily, had contradicted Mr Kumars statement.
The CPI (ML) leader alleged that the Nitish Kumar government dissolved the Amir Das commission only to protect politicians patronising the Ranvir Sena.
He said a joint delegation of CPI (M) and CPI had submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister yesterday, urging him to revive the Amir Das commission.
Mr Sharma said dharnas, demonstrations and other agitational programmes will be organised at block level tomorrow in support of the said demands.
He stated that similar programmes would be organised at the district level on May 5.
