China blank Germany 5-0, India finish second in their group

Sendai, Japan, Apr 30 (UNI) India finished second in their group after China blanked Germany 5-0 in the last league match of the World Team Badminton Championship for the Thomas Cup here today.

The defending champions toyed with the hosts with only one German player -- Reuter Marcel -- taking a game off his opponent while all his compatriots losing in staraight games against the mighty Chinese.

India, who beat Germany 3-2 yesterday, will clash with Group B third placers New Zealand in the pre-quarter-finals tomorrow, while Grermany take on Group B second placers Korea.

China topped Group A while Indonesia, who beat Korea 3-2 today, topped Group B.
