Child marriages prevented in MP

Shivpuri, MP, Apr 30 (UNI) Twenty minor couples were today prevented from entering into wedlock in this district's Narayanpur village, on the auspicious occasion of 'Akshay Tritiya', under a special anti-child marriage campaign and two persons arrested.

''A tip-off was received about such marriages. The accused were identified as Mohan Kanghar and Badri Kanghar whose daughters, aged 14 and 16, were also among the would-be brides,'' said Sub-Divisional Magistrate Aditya Singh Tomar.
