Anti-encroachment drive in Rajasthan from May 8
Jaipur, Apr 30 (UNI) Rajasthan will soon go the Delhi way with 'Operation Sugam' aimed to clear encroachments, all ready to roll from May 8.
The operation which will go on for 15 days in the first phase will take action against encroachments and clear illegally constructed additions to the main buildings and houses.
Before the operation begins, a list of all buildings flouting the the parking and floor area rules would be prepared. Then they will be issued notices, giving them a time frame to clear encraochments themselves. If they don't comply, action would be taken to clear the illegal encroachments.
During the drive, repair work of drainage system and footpaths would be carried on simultaneously.
Local Self Government minister Mr Pratap Singh Singhvi said the Jaipur Development Authority, Housing Board, Jaipur Nagar Nigam and Public Works Department will be involved in the operation. A nodal agency will be formed under the Local Self Government department.
All district collectors have been asked to conduct the operation in their respective districts.
