Air Deccan deploys an Airbus on Delhi-Patna route

New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) Air Deccan will launch daily flights from Delhi to Patna from June 1.

Bookings for these flights will start tomorrow at 0800 hrs. An Airbus A320 (180 seater) has been deployed on this sector.

Air Deccan already has daily flights connecting Patna to Kolkata.

Patna, the capital city of Bihar is a gateway to famous Buddhist and Jain pilgrim centres of Vaishali, Rajgriha, Nalanda, Bodhgaya and Pawapuri which attract domestic as well as international tourists.

''Low cost air connectivity to Delhi from Patna will definitely help in the overall development and growth of the city and will boost the economy by providing more opportunities to the residents,'' said airline's managing director G.R. Gopinath.

Since its inception in August 2003, Air Deccan has carried over four million passengers, covering 55 destinations. It has close to 230 flights a day with a fleet size of 30 aircraft comprising Airbus A320 and ATRs.
