Water shortage in 100 villages in Bijapur

Bijapur, Apr 29: More than 100 villages in Bijapur district face accute drinking water shortage, official sources indicated here today.

The sources said that water was being supplied through tankers to 53 villages. Committees have been formed at gram panchayat level to check the situation on a daily basis. The Distrit administration has sought Rs.10 crore from the Karnataka Government to tackle the situation.
