Sushma claims twin Bharat Suraksha Yatras big success
Lucknow, Apr 29 (UNI) Refusing to admit a rather lukewarm response to the twin Bharat Suraksha Yatras of BJP president Rajnath Singh and his predecessor L K Advani, senior party leader Sushma Swaraj today claimed the two treks were a grand success in spirit and objective, but lacked prominence in the national media.
Both the Yatras were a big sucess everywhere they went, but failed to get the desired space in the media, the firebrand BJP leader and former Union Minister told newspersons here.
''May be media has other news to display, but sucess of Bharat Suraksha Yatra cannot be undermined,''she said. Mr Advani was particularly upbeat over it as the Yatra had succeeded in giving the right message, she added.
The local media had highilghted the Yatra well but in the places other than where the Yatras had gone, it had failed to get due media coverage, Ms Swaraj said.
In reply to a query, she said the Yatras had some specific issues to raise among the general public and both the leaders had suceeded in doing so.
It may be recalled that the much-hyped countrywide Bharat Suraksha Yatras were kicked off on April Six from Rajkot by Mr Advani and from Bhubaneshwar by BJP president Rajnath Singh. As per the general perception in the political circles, both the Yatras were modest successes and the euphoria created by Mr Advani's famous Rathyatra in 1989 was definitely missing this time.
