Select metal prices down on poor demand

Mumbai, Apr 29 (UNI) Select metal prices fell on thin buying support, traders at the metal exchange here today said.

In the ferrous section : copper utensils and brass utensils declined by Rs 500 each per quintal, while copper heavy eased by Rs 300 per quintal on lack of fresh demand.

In non-ferrous section : lead ingots, zinc slab and copper wire bars fell by Rs 250, Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on sustained heavy selling pressure.

The prices of tin slab and nickel cathode remained steady on moderate demand.

Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy- Rs 37,500, copper utensils- Rs 34,500, brass utensils- Rs 24,000, brass cuttings- Rs 26,000 and aluminium utensils- Rs 10,600.

Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars- Rs 39,500, aluminium ingots- Rs 13,600, zinc slab- Rs 19,300, lead ingots- Rs 6,600, Tin slab- Rs 525 (per kg) and nickel cathode- Rs 980 (per kg).
