Regional Passport Officer visits engineer's family

Hyderabad, Apr 29 (UNI) Regional Passport Officer Bala Bhaskar today visited the Maredpalli residence of the engineer S Suryanarayana who was kidnapped by the Talibans in Afghanisthan and assured his family members that the Centre is making every effort to secure his release.

Mr Bala Bhaskar told the media that the Centre was in touch with the Afghanisthan government and high level efforts were on to secure safe release of Mr Suryanarayana.

He said he was directed Minister of State for External Affairs Mr E Ahamed and Foreign Secretary shyam saran to visit the family of the kidnapped engineer and inform them of the efforts being made by the government to secure his release.

The engineer's wife Manjula is living with her three children in her in-laws' house. She said her husband, who was the lone bread-earner for the family went to Afghanisthan in search of livelihood. She appealed to the kidnappers to release her husband.

Mr Chandrasekhar, Mr Suryanarayana's father said his son was innocent and was not involved in anything. He appealed to the Talibans to release him immediately on compassionate grounds.
