One shot dead, seven injured in clash

Bhatinda, Apr 29 (UNI) One person was shot dead and seven others were injured in a clash between two groups over the possession of a Gurdwara at Morkalan village in the district today.

The deceased was identified as 22-year-old Jugraj Singh of Morkalan village, who died on the spot after he was shot at.

Four seriously injured were admitted to DMC hospital in Ludhiana, while the others were admitted to the local civil hospital.

Police have arrested 16 persons under sections 302, 307 IPC in following the clash.
