Modi, Farooq Abdullah visit Mahajan

Mumbai, Apr 29 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh and Bollywood actor-producer Sanjay Khan were promiment visitors today at Hinduja hospital here where senior BJP leader Pramod Mahajan is battling for life since April 22 when he was shot by his younger brother Pravin.

Today's was Mr Modi's second visit. He first rushed here on April 22. Unlike his largely unobstrusive previous visit, the Chief Minister, who is on high security, was today accompanied by black cat commandoes.

During a brief interaction with the media, Mr Abdullah said people are ready to donate kidney and liver for Mr Mahajan but '' I hope and pray the need does not arise. Doctors told me there is a gradual improvement in the last 8 days. We all pray for his early recovery ( so that ) he continues to serve the country.'' Describing Mr Mahajan a national asset, Mr Amar Singh said he strongly believed that prayers are helping him more than medicines, adding his family told him there is a gradual improvement in his condition. '' We all pray he recovers fast as he is an asset to the nation.'' Describing the BJP leader as '' a courageous friend,'' Mr Sanjay Khan said he will recover soon and resume his work. He also appreciated the courage shown by his Son Rahul in tackling the crisis.
