Major sex racket unearthed in Kashmir, politicians involved
Srinagar, Apr 29 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir police have unearthed a major sex racket when they arrested three people, official sources said.
They said some politicians, businessmen and senior security force and police officials are involved in the racket, in which more than 40 girls were being used for sex abuse and making blue films.
Giving details, the sources said some local residents lodge a complaint with the Shaheedgunj in the old city alleging that some pimps were blackmailing teenage girls and forcing them to pose in the blue films.
They also handed over two blue film CDs to police, in which two local girls were filmed. It was only after these girls and their parents were questioned, police came to know about the major flesh trade racket.
The girls later identified 43 more girls who have been forced to enter into the flesh trade.
During the questioning police came to know that these girls were being supplied allegedly to politicians, senior police, security force officers and some businessmen.
Shaheedgunj Police station has registered a case under FIR number 20/2006 under section 67 Information Act, 07 PITA and 376 RPC.
A police press release issued here this evening said four people, including a woman, involved in the racket have been identified.
Three accused have been arrested and efforts are on to nab the fourth, it added.
Investigation is still going on and police expects to take the case to its logical conclusion soon, the release said.
Earlier, Director General of Police Gopal Sharma said all those involved in the racket would be brought to book. Nobody will be spared, he assured.
