Krishna Iyer, Cardinal Vithayathil among early voters

Kochi, Apr 29 (UNI) Kerala Industries Minister V K Ibrahim Kunju, Justice V R Krishna Iyer and Major Archbishop Cardinal Varki Vithayathil were among those who made it to the polling booths early in Ernakulam district today.

Voting for the second phase of the assembly elections in 14 constituencies of the district began on a slow note this morning but picked up pace as the day progressed.

There were no reports of any untoward incidents from anywhere in the district.

While Mr Kunju voted in the tiny coastal constituency of Mattanchery from where he is seeking re-election, Cardinal Varki Vithayathil and Justice Krishna Iyer voted at their respective polling stations in Ernakulam constituency.
