Johl tied 8th, Ghei tied 19th in Korea
Seoul, Apr 29 (UNI) Amandeep Johl's round of 70 earned him a share of the eighth place and kept alive his hopes for a top 10 finish while Gaurav Ghei's three-under 69 was the best by an Indian in the penultimate round of the 600,000 dollar GS Caltex Maekyung Open here today.
Johl so far had rounds of 69, 69 and 70 and the seasoned Indian pro is tied eighth at eight-under 208 with one more round to go.
Ghei, on the other hand, continued to improve with each round and will be hoping to continue the trend and come up with the best show of the week in the last round tomorrow. With rounds of 72, 70 and 76, Ghei is tied for the 19th position at five-under 211.
Kolkata pro Rahul Gangjee, who was three-under after two days, had a nightmarish third round of four-over 76 that took his three-day tally to one-over 217 for the tied 61st place.
At the top of the table, 26-year-old Korean Lee Sung, a born deaf, maintained his two-stroke lead at 14-under 202 after carding 69 as he held off the chasing pack led by compatriot Suk Jong-ryul, who signed for a 68 for second place at the Lakeside Country Club.
